About Musical Memories By David Hornung
"Musical Memories" is the inspiration of David Hornung. David started taking music lessons at 8 years old, playing an acoustic accordion. He progressed quickly, and, by 16, played in a dance band. On weekends, he assisted his music teacher instruct younger accordion students.
Today, David plays a Roland V-Accordion with authentic MIDI accordion and orchestra voices. Technological advances in the accordion allow him to tailor and personalize the music. His easy listening music sets have a blend of music selections from various genres and time periods. The dance sets cover the popular ballroom dancing steps. Depending on your individual needs, you can hear cover tunes popular over a span of 70-plus years starting from the early 1900's and including familiar traditional ethnic music. Whether the music is dinner background music or a main presentation, you will be surprised by the quality of the music. David's goal, through preparation and collaboration with the event coordinator or family, is to play vintage music compatible with the theme of the celebration and include favorite pieces of music. Themed events are very popular and enjoyed by all ages. A few examples are: Romance, Big Band, Christmas, French Bistro, Oktoberfest, Canada Day, War Years, Hawaiian, 60/70's and “Flower Power”, Robbie Burns or St. Patrick's Days. We are limited only by our imagination. Wedding receptions with background dinner music can be tailored to individual needs, tastes and themes.
